- When ready to serve, remove the bars from the pan, cut into squares and serve drizzled with caramel sauce, if desired.
CAN I USE ANOTHER COOKIE DOUGH?
Absolutely, we just love using chocolate chip cookie dough as it works really well with the flavors.
You can use sugar cookie dough, chocolate cookie dough, etc. Whatever you think would work with the flavors I say go for it.
HOW LONG DO THESE NEED TO CHILL?
These will chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours, you want them to set up nicely before you cut them.
If you cut them when they are too warm still they will not completely hold together.
CAN I USE ANOTHER FLAVOR OF OREO?
Absolutely, there are so many different flavors that you can use to switch up these Cheesecake Bars!
Some of our favorites include:
- Red Velvet
- Mint
- Peanut Butter
- Java Chip
- Chocolate
- Birthday Cake
There are so many different flavors of Oreos so you really cannot go wrong.
CAN I GARNISH OR TOP THESE WITH ANYTHING ELSE?
Yes you can! We love to drizzle caramel sauce over the top when serving, but you can also do chocolate sauce as well.
Before baking you can also add chopped nuts, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and more to the cheesecake batter or on top.
HOW TO STORE:
These can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 3-4 days.
They can also be frozen, I like to individually wrap each bar in plastic wrap and place in a freezer container where they will keep for up to 3 months.
To defrost, remove to refrigerator until thawed and then serve.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You can use other cookie dough if you’d like, see suggestions above.
- Make sure that your cream cheese is room temperature.
- These need to chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
- Use a hot knife to get perfect cuts when slicing.
- These can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
- Switch up your Oreo flavors, see some suggestions above.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce or chocolate sauce for a decadent touch.
- Add some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the cheesecake batter or on top before baking.
