If you have been anywhere near TikTok in the last year or less, then you’ve seen the viral Candy Salad.

I have a confession to make, I’m not a huge sweet candy person. But I absolutely love me some chocolate.

So I wanted to take a different approach and make this Chocolate Candy Salad for all my chocolate lovers out there.

This is one of the easiest recipes (if you could call it that) that you could ever make. Mix everything together and devour.

This is great to have sitting around on our countertop for family to grab some sweet treats and go, or its great for graduations, baby showers, parties and so much more.

There really isn’t a way that you can go wrong with this Chocolate Candy Salad, not even eating it in one day…but I mean everything in moderation.

If you have been looking for something fun, and to have some dessert sitting around the house to just grab at, then you need this in your life.

Some of my other favorite chocolate recipes that we have on our site include: Easy Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Glazed Donuts and Chocolate Lava Cake.

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:

  • It is so versatile, you can swap out any of your favorite chocolate candies.
  • This makes a large batch, but you can absolutely make even more.
  • The mixture of flavors and textures is so fun!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST):

Original M&Ms
Mini M&Ms
Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Reese’s Pieces
Hershey’s Kisses (I used Cookies ‘n Cream)
Rolos
Hershey’s Cookies n’ Cream Candy Bars
Bite-sized 3 Musketeers Candy Bars

Ingredients needed to make a Chocolate Candy Salad.

HOW LARGE OF A CONTAINER WILL I NEED?

So we absolutely love having this in a container on our countertop, so you will want to use at least a 3 quart container for this Chocolate Candy Salad.

CAN I ADD OR SUBSTITUTE ANY OTHER CHOCOLATE?

Absolutely! We just used some of our favorites that would have a nice flavor profile and give some color. Some other chocolates that you can use include:

  1. Milk Duds
  2. Whoppers
  3. Sixlets
  4. Chocolate Smarties
  5. Bite Sized Snickers
  6. Bite Sized Twix
  7. Chocolate Chips
  8. Rock Candy (chocolate)
  9. Regular Hershey’s Bar

The list can go on and on and on, and if you want to add some sweets in there you can add some non-chocolate candy as you wish.

WILL THIS MELT ON MY COUNTERTOP?

This really depends on how warm your house is and where you are storing it.

If you are afraid that this will melt, it is perfectly fine to leave it in your refrigerator until you want to serve it to ensure it does not melt.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO SERVE THIS CANDY SALAD?

If you are wanting to serve it out of the container, we like to use a metal or plastic scoop as they grab the candy the best.

You can serve in bowls, smaller trifle dishes, snack bags, gift bags, etc.

HOW TO STORE:

This is best stored in an airtight container in a cool place where it should keep up to 3 months, but you most likely will never have any left by then.

You can also store this in the refrigerator for shorter periods of time, I wouldn’t do long as chocolate likes to create condensation and can cause the candy to stick together.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Switch up your chocolate candy, see some of my suggestions above.
  • We use at least a 3 quart storage container for this.
  • This is great for parties, at home, and so much more.
  • The best way to scoop this out of the container is with a metal or plastic scoop.
  • If you want to switch it up, you can add some non chocolate candy in with this.
  • Try to get different textures and flavors that go together well.
  • This can be served over ice cream!
